Oil ends 2-session slump, closes higher

NEW YORK, July 12 (UPI) -- Crude oil futures snapped a two-session losing skid Tuesday, adding $2.28 to settle at $97.43 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Oil prices closed down during trading sessions Friday and Monday on the exchange.

Other energy products also settled higher Tuesday. Natural gas rose 5 cents to $4.33 per million British thermal units. Gasoline added 3 cents to end the session at $3.10 a gallon.

August heating oil was flat, closing at $3.09 a gallon.
