SINGAPORE, June 22 (UPI) -- Sony Ericsson said it was adding two new smartphones to its Xperia line up, announcing the news at a trade show in Singapore Wednesday.

The firm also said it was expanding the availability of the PlayStation Phone, offering it in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand by the third quarter, PCMagazine reported Wednesday.

At the CommunicAsia 2011 show, Sony Ericsson unveiled the Xperia Active and the Xperia Ray, the first geared toward consumers on the go and the second for those looking for a smaller phone.

The Xperia Active is water resistant for up to 30 minutes in 3 feet of water and includes a barometer, a global positioning system, a heart-rate monitor and other features for athletes and travelers. It includes a 5-megapixel camera with HD capabilities, the magazine said.

The lineup also includes the Sony Ericsson Txt, which is WiFi enabled and includes a QWERTY keyboard and a video camera.
