Over the past four months, the ADP report has pointed to an average gain of 211,000 jobs per month.

Consistently, the service sector is posting the largest gain. January to February gains for the service sector totaled 202,000. In the latest report, ADP said 164,000 of the jobs added were in the service sector.

Manufacturing jobs rose by 37,000 after rising by 20,000 a month ago. Construction lost 5,000 jobs in the month, making a total loss of 2,126,000 construction jobs since January 2007.

Also consistent with recent reports, large firms lagged behind small and medium-sized companies. Firms with over 500 workers added 17,000 jobs in the month. Firms with between 50 and 500 workers added 82,000 jobs, while smaller firms added 102,000.
