NEW YORK, March 10 (UPI) -- Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim Helu held his place at the top of the list of the world's richest people for 2011, Forbes Magazine said Thursday.

The Top 5 on the list this year included Slim and his family, worth $74 billion, Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates, worth $56 billion, investor Warren Buffet, worth $50 billion, European luxury retail mogul Bernard Arnault, worth $41 billion, and Larry Ellison, the head of Oracle, who is worth $39.5 billion, the magazine said.

Forbes said the city boasting the most members of the billionaires club was Moscow and that a record 1,210 qualified as billionaires this year.

In China, Forbes said, the billionaires club doubled in size this year.
