WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said 1,800 Sno-Tek snowblowers sold with a missing safety shield were being recalled.
Liquid Combustion Technology, LLC, of Travelers Rest, S.C., is recalling the snowblowers, 300 of which were sold in Canada, the commission said.
The missing safety shields, if furnished, were designed to cover the side mounted electric starter, the commission said.
The snowblowers involved in the recall have LCT StormForce engines with "Sno-Tek" printed across the handlebar plate.
Snowblowers with model numbers 920402 and 920403 and UPC codes 5105803094 and 5105803095 are being recalled. However, the recall is specific to the engine model PW1HK18650781DE-ABGOQUVE1M with serial numbers ranging from 1065H04008325A through 1065H04012104A.
Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled snowblowers and contact LCT for a free repair kit.
Consumers can call 800-552-8094 for information.
