Home prices in Canada rose in November

OTTAWA, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Home prices in Canada rose 0.3 percent in November after rising 0.1 percent the previous month, Statistics Canada said Wednesday.

Among Canadian cities, prices increased the most sharply in St. John's, the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador, where prices rose 4.2 percent. This was followed by Ottawa-Gatineau, the country's capital district, where prices rose 1.6 percent.

The biggest decline for the month was reported by Windsor, Ontario, where prices fell 1.8 percent, followed by a 1.1 percent drop in St. Catharines–Niagara, Ontario.
