WASHINGTON, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- A federal consumer watchdog agency said Meijer of Grand Rapids, Mich., is recalling 6,700 ceramic heaters due to a short-circuiting problem.

About 6,700 Touch Point Oscillating Ceramic Heaters imported from China were sold in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio between October 2009 and October 2010 for about $25.

The recall involves Touch Point PTC oscillating ceramic heaters with model number PTC-902 and serial numbers between 35005 and 43008.

The heaters are silver and black, and about 10 inches tall.

Consumers were advised to stop using the heaters and return them to the retailer for a full refund.

Consumers can call 866-280-8419 for information.
