WASHINGTON, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- U.S. consumer watchdogs said Sportcraft Ltd. had recalled 3,100 pogo sticks due to reports of aluminum rivets breaking.

Broken rivets in the pogo stick's frame can break, which causes a support clamp to detach, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

Two of the reported incidents involving rivet problems included reports of injuries to the pogo stick rider, the commission said in a statement.

The recall involves Classic Sport Super Bounce pogo sticks imported from China by the Budd Lake N.J., firm and sold nationwide from April 2010 through October 2010 for about $40.

The recalled pogo sticks have Sportcraft identification number 4112777F19414-02/10 printed on the bottom of the foot pedals.

Consumers were advised to stop using the pogo sticks and return them for a full refund.

Consumers can call 800-526-0244 for information.
