Oct. 9, 2010 at 2:42 PM

BEIJING, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Swiss bank Credit Suisse estimated household wealth in China would more than double in the next five years, from $16.5 trillion to $35 trillion.

China, which surpassed Japan to become the second-largest economy this year, has a household wealth total that is 35 percent larger than France and nearly five times that of India, China Daily reported Saturday.

In terms of household wealth, Japan remains the second largest, behind the United States. Third and fourth on the list are Germany and Britain.

Switzerland tops the list of household wealth on a per capita basis. Next on that list is Norway, followed by Australia.
