MIAMI, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- U.S. fast-food franchise giant Burger King said Tuesday it would revamp its breakfast menu with nine new items, its largest menu expansion ever.
"Nine new BK Breakfast Menu items will have sleepyheads everywhere marching to a new breakfast beat," the company said in a statement.
Burger King, which announced last week it would sell itself to 3G Capital for $4 billion, said it was adding an egg, tomato, ham, bacon and American cheese club sandwich, bite-sized blueberry muffins and a combination platter for $4.29 that included pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns and a biscuit.
The new breakfast fare, available Tuesday, includes Seattle's Best Coffee and three flavors of iced coffee, the company said in a statement.
"We're ready to compete to be America's wake up call," Chief Marketing Officer for North America Mike Kappitt said.
