Crude oil prices climb Thursday

NEW YORK, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices rose Thursday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, closing in on $75 per barrel as equity prices were positive for the second consecutive day.

October delivery crude oil prices added $1.48 to $74.92 per barrel in New York. Heating oil prices shed 0.0048 cents to $2.0575 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock for October lost 0.0015 cents to $1.9201 per gallon.

Henry Hub natural gas prices added 0.036 cents to $3.787 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline dropped to $2.676 per gallon Thursday from Wednesday's $2.678, AAA said.
