
CHICAGO, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mixed Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade, with the dollar index up 0.27 percent.
Corn was up 4 1/2 to up 5 1/2, soybeans were off 2 3/4 to off 4, wheat was up 5 1/4 to up 9 1/2 and oats were off 1 to up 1/4.
Corn closed modestly higher after the Bank of Japan said it would increase quantitative easing to shore up its export market -- although the dollar dropped to 84.53 yen from Friday's 85.36 yen. Wheat futures rose with support from reports of continued dry weather in western Australia. Soybean prices closed lower with dry weather expected in the Midwest this week.

Corn: Sep 4.25, up 4 1/2; Dec 4.41 1/2, up 5 1/2; Mar 4.54 1/2, up 5 1/4; May 4.61 1/4, up 5.
Soybeans: Sep 10.18, off 4; Nov 10.22 1/2, off 3 1/2; Jan 10.31 1/4, off 3; Mar 10.36, off 2 3/4.
Wheat: Sep 6.71 1/4, up 8 3/4; Dec 7.04 1/2, up 9 1/2; Mar 7.27, up 6 3/4; May 7.24 1/4, up 5 1/4.
Oats: Sep 2.64 1/2, off 1; Dec 2.78 1/4, off 1/4; Mar 2.89, unchanged; May 2.94 1/2, up 1/4.
