Pottery Barn Kids drop-side cribs recalled

WASHINGTON, July 16 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Pottery Barn Kids drop-side cribs due to fall and entrapment hazards.

About 82,000 drop-side cribs were imported from Canada, Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia and Italy by Pottery Barn Kids of division of Williams-Sonoma Inc. of San Francisco and sold nationwide from January 1999 through March 2010 for between $300 and $600.

The drop sides can detach, trapping a child or opening up the risk of a fall, the commission said in a statement.

Consumers were advised to stop using the cribs and contact Pottery Barn Kids for free fixed-gate hardware that keeps the drop-side in a fixed position.

Consumers can call 877-804-3847 for information.
