MINNEAPOLIS, July 14 (UPI) -- A federal judge in Minneapolis Wednesday ordered Haas TCM chemical company embezzler Chad Jurgens to return $6.3 million and serve five years in prison.

In April, Jurgens pleaded guilty to stealing funds for the better part of 10 years while he was in charge of sales of chemicals to Seagate Technologies, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.

He admitted in court to using falsifying purchase orders and manipulating the procurement system to make sure a separate company was being paid for orders on chemicals Seagate did not receive.

Meanwhile, Jurgens spent lavishly on boats, water scooters, jewelry, real estate and a home, the newspaper said.

The $6.3 million in restitution is to include $1 million to Seagate, $1.45 million to the National Union Fire Insurance Co. of New York, $2.87 million to Haas and $1 million to Chubb and Son and Federal Insurance Co. of New Jersey, court records show.
