DETROIT, July 8 (UPI) -- A mansion in Detroit visited by the luminaries of the Motown record label is up for sale, a real estate sales agent said.
The Detroit News reported Caldwell Banker Weir Manuel sales associate Kenan Bakirci said the home once owned by Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. will be listed as soon as Monday. Unofficially, the asking price for the 10,000-square foot home is $1.395 million, the newspaper said.
It is currently owned by Cynthia Reaves, who also had a luminous guest list, including then-Sen. Barack Obama, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
Gordy Jr.'s guest lists at the Venetian Renaissance-style home included the greats of the Motown label, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder among them.
The home has five fireplaces, a private gym and a wine seller and bragging rights -- lots of bragging rights.
