WASHINGTON, June 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Rhino Toys Beado toys due to a choking hazard.

About 5,500 handheld bead play toys called "Beado" were imported from China by Rhino Toys Inc. of Santa Cruz, Calif., and sold nationwide from March 2010 through May 2010 for about $12.

The toys are three-dimensional plastic spheres with beads used by young children, who slide the beads along the inter-woven plastic railing.

The recall involves Beado toys with model number 1501 and date code 02910 04323A.

The date code is imprinted in the plastic toy and printed on the packaging.

The beads can slide off the railings of the sphere and are small enough to be a choking hazard to young children, the commission said.

Consumers were advised to take the toys from children and return them to the retailer for a full refund or a replacement toy.

Consumers can call 877-887-4433 for information.
