CHICAGO, April 14 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday, despite sharp gains in equities markets and a 0.36 percent drop in the dollar index.
Corn was up 5 to up 5 1/2, soybeans were up 3/4 to up 4, wheat was off 1 1/4 to off 2 and oats were unchanged.
Corn prices rose with trading light and sunny weather expected in the Midwest. Wheat futures fell with downward pressure coming from highly favorable spring weather. Soybean trading was also light with cash markets subdued Wednesday.

Corn: May 3.58, up 5 1/2; Jly 3.68 1/2, up 5 1/4; Sep. 3.78 3/4, up 5 1/4; Dec 3.89 1/4, up 5.
Soybeans: May 9.69, up 1; Jly 9.77, up 1 1/2; Aug 9.71 3/4, up 3/4; Sep 9.54, up 4.
Wheat: May 4.74 3/4, off 1 1/4; Jly 4.87 1/4, off 1 1/2; Sep 5.04 1/4, off 2; Dec 5.32 1/4, off 1 3/4.
Oats: May 2.15 3/4; Jly 2.20 1/4; Sep 2.28 1/4; Dec 2.40 1/4 -- all unchanged.
