Drones over U.S. may pose security risks

LAS VEGAS, March 30 (UPI) -- Nevada Labor Commissioner Michael Tanchek said Tuesday the state's minimum wage would increase by 70 cents an hour -- a raise for about 100,000 workers.
The hourly rate, pushed by a similar rise in the federal minimum wage, will be $7.25 an hour for employees with health insurance benefits and $8.26 per hour for those without, the Las Vegas Sun reported.
Overtime rates will also jump, climbing to $10.87 per hour and $12.37 per hour with the higher rate offered to employees without health insurance.
The increases take effect July 1, the newspaper said.
Kelly Karch, Nevada's deputy administrator for the Division of Employment Security, said 7.9 percent of the workers -- about 100,800 people -- earn the minimum wage.
