WASHINGTON, March 19 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Konrad and Loft office chairs due to a fall hazard.
About 4,300 wooden Konrad and Loft chairs imported from Thailand were distributed by Cost Plus Inc., of Oakland, Calif., and sold nationwide from January to December 2009 for about $170.
The chairs were shipped with various model numbers. The recall involves wooden desk chairs on wheels with adjustable heights.
The back of the chair can come loose from the base, creating a risk of a fall, the commission said in a statement.
Consumers were advised to stop using the chairs and contact any Cost Plus retail outlet for a full refund or an exchange.
Consumers can call 877-967-5362 for information.
