WASHINGTON, March 10 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Brand Evolution boys' sweatshirts with drawstrings due to a strangulation hazard.
The Locks All Over Boys' Hoody, All Over Skaters Boys' Hoody and Rock Mask Boys' Hoody include drawstrings that violate a voluntary industry standard banning drawstrings in upper garments -- shirts, jackets and sweatshirts -- to reduce threat of strangulation.
About 2,800 hoodies were imported from China and Peru by Brand Evolution of Philadelphia and sold nationwide at Burlington Coat Factory, Exclusive Wear, Amm One Inc. and other retail outlets.
All Over Locks sweatshirts are white with colored prints of padlocks; All Over Skaters were sold in prints of red and orange skaters; Rock Mask Hoodies were sold in solid black.
Consumers were advised to remove the drawstring or return the jackets to the retailer for a full refund.
Consumers can call Brand Evolution (877-330-3911) for information.
