NEW YORK, March 8 (UPI) -- Discount airline JetBlue said Monday it would reward customers with $10 fares from New York to 10 destinations to celebrate its own birthday.

JetBlue said the deal is available for flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport for passengers who buy their tickets Monday, and fly Tuesday and Wednesday.

The airline is including its the first 10 destinations it scheduled in its first year of business 10 years ago -- Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Orlando and Fort Myers, Florida; Buffalo and Rochester, N.Y.; Oakland, Calif.; Burlington, Vt., and Salt Lake City.

In a statement, JetBlue said the $10 fares were "the first of many monthly celebrations," which would be announced on Twitter.

The airline said it would announce a special on Twitter Wednesday for New York customers.

"As we enter our second decade we couldn't think of a better way to pay tribute to 2010 than a monthly celebration with our crew members and our customers," said Robin Hayes, chief commercial officer for JetBlue Airways.
