ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- U.S. discount stores have beaten the mid-level and top-tier retailers at sales promotions, data from a recent survey shows.
Harris Interactive said 29 percent of 2,276 consumers interviewed Dec. 7-14, indicated they are more likely to shop at a discount store due to a promotion, compared with 18 percent and 9 percent who indicated they shop, respectively, at mid-level and high-end retail stores for the same reason.
