U.S. markets recover from steep losses

WASHINGTON, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Kendamaspot wooden toys due to high levels of lead in the paint.
About 300 wooden skill ball toys were imported from Japan by Kendamaspot LLC of Redmond, Wash., and sold at fairs and festivals in Washington state between July 2008 and April 2009 for about $20.
The recall involves Oozora and Shin-Fuji Kendama Japanese wooden skill toys that have a handle with a peg on which a player tries to swing a ball, which is attached to the handle by a rope.
Consumers were advised to take the toys away from children and contact Kendamaspot for a free replacement ball.
Consumers can call 866-903-7795 for information.
