WASHINGTON, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- More than 200,000 Disney and Eddie Bauer play yard bassinets are being recalled because children could be suffocated, a U.S. watchdog agency says.

About 213,000 of the portable bassinets were imported from China by Dorel Juvenile Group Inc. of Columbus, Ind., and sold nationwide from January 2007 through October 2009 for about $120 each.

The bassinets have metal bars supporting the floorboard that can detach and create an uneven sleeping surface, which could put an infant at risk of suffocation, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement announcing the voluntary recall. No injuries have been reported, however, the agency said.

The Safety 1st Disney Care Center Play Yard and Eddie Bauer Complete Care Play Yard bassinets have "Safety 1st" or "Eddie Bauer" printed near the bottom of the fabric sides.

Consumers were advised to stop using the bassinet attachment to the play yard and contact Dorel Juvenile Group for a free repair kit.

Consumers can call 866-762-2166 for information.
