WATERLOO, Ontario, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Users of BlackBerry e-mail service from Canada's Research in Motion Ltd. say a second outage in two weeks is causing an uproar.

The Crackberry blog was flooded Thursday with complaints from users saying RIM has lost its edge on customer service, InformationWeek reported.

Dozens of similar gripes from frustrated BlackBerry users were posted on the blog, InformationWeek said, with some even threatening to switch to an alternative, such as Apple's iPhone.

RIM issued a statement saying: "Some BlackBerry customers in the Americas are currently experiencing delays in message delivery. Our technical teams are actively working to resolve this issue for those impacted. We apologize for any inconvenience."

The trouble appeared early Wednesday, InformationWeek said, about a week a massive RIM outage that curtailed BlackBerry service in much of North America.

The report gave no details on the cause of the outages, but said the trouble was limited to RIM's consumer-oriented Internet service, and did not extend to corporate users who send messages through a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
