WASHINGTON, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Osram Sylvania portable nightlights due to an electric shock hazard.
About 26,000 LED Rocketship PALPODzzz Portable Nightlights were imported from China by Osram Sylvania Products Inc., of Danvers, Mass., and sold nationwide from October 2008 through November 2009 for about $20 each.
The bottom plastic cover to the recharging battery base can break, exposing consumers to minor shock hazards, the commission said in a statement.
The portable lights are sold as nightlights or flashlights. They are shaped like rockets with a plug in base for recharging batteries.
Consumers were advised to stop using the nightlights and contact Osram Sylvania for a free replacement and a $5 credit coupon.
Consumers can call 877-423-3772 for information.
