
CHICAGO, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Grain futures were mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Thursday as U.S. equities made modest gains and the dollar gained against the yen.
Corn was up 9 1/4 to up 9 1/2, soybeans were off 1 1/2 to off 4 1/4, wheat was up 1 3/4 to up 2 3/4 and oats were up 1 1/2.
Corn futures rose as winter weather restricted shipping in the Midwest. Wheat prices rose although the U.S. Department of Agriculture lowered its domestic use estimate by 15 million bushels. Soybean areas of Brazil and Argentina are both expecting beneficial weather for the near future.

Corn: Dec 3.77 1/4, up 9 1/4; Mar 3.93, up 9 1/2; May 4.04, up 9 1/2; Jul 4.13 3/4, up 9 1/2.
Soybeans: Jan 10.27, off 1 1/2; Mar 10.35 3/4, off 2; May 10.42 1/2, off 3 1/4; Jul 10.47 3/4, off 4 1/4.
Wheat: Dec 5.17 3/4, up 2 3/4; Mar 5.37, up 1 3/4; May 5.50 1/4, up 1 3/4; Jul 5.60 1/4, up 1 3/4.
Oats: Dec 2.46, up 1 1/2; Mar 2.56, up 1 1/2; May 2.64 1/2, up 1 1/2; Jul 2.73 1/2, up 1 1/2.
