WASHINGTON, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Electrolux ICON and Kenmore PRO gas ranges due to a poisoning hazard.
About 900 gas ranges were imported from Canada by Electrolux Home Products Inc. of Augusta, Ga., and sold nationwide from August 2008 through October 2009 for $2,500 to $3,500.
The ranges include a part that allows for inefficient burning of gas, resulting in possible exposure to carbon monoxide due to incomplete combustion.
The recall involves Electrolux ICON model No. E30GF74HPS and Kenmore PRO model Nos. 790.76913800 and 790.76913801 ranges.
Consumers were advised to stop using the stoves and contact Electrolux for the ICON model and Sears for the Kenmore PRO to schedule a free repair.
Consumers can call 800-733-2299 for information.
