WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Cost Plus World Market stainless steel cookware due to a burn hazard.
The handles on the stainless steel pots and pans imported from India by Cost Plus Inc. of Oakland, Calif., can break, posing a burn hazard to users, the commission said.
The cookware was sold in four-piece sets, a three-piece steamer set and as a separate 1.5 quart egg poacher.
The were sold at Cost Plus World Market stores nationwide in August 2009 for about $30 for a four-piece set, $15 for a three-piece set and $15 for the egg poacher.
Consumers were advised to stop using the cookware and contact Cost Plus or World Market outlets for a full refund.
Consumers can call 877-967-5362 for information.
