WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- The Consumer Products Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Gander Mountain hunting treestands due to a fall hazard.
About 13,000 treestands were imported from China by Gander Mountain Co., of St. Paul, Minn., and sold from July 2008 to July 2009 for between $60 and $80 each.
The tree stands include a claps that could open unexpectedly. The company has received two reports of falls from trees that included injuries. One person suffered a broken arm and a broken pelvis due to the fall, the commission said.
The recall involves the 2008 model GMT101 and GMT103 Hang-On Fixed Position Treestands.
Consumers were advised to stop using the treestands and return them to Gander Mountain for a refund, exchange or store credit.
Consumers can call 88-542-6337 for information.
