Grains close mostly higher Wednesday

Corn harvest continues in Manteno, Illinois as commodity  prices rise sharply in futures markets

CHICAGO, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. grain futures closed mostly higher on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday as the dollar index rose 0.08 percent against major currencies.

Corn was off 1/2 to up 1/4, soybeans were up 2 1/4 to up 6 1/4, wheat was up 8 1/4 to up 9 and oats were up 2 1/2 to up 2 3/4.

Corn futures closed up slightly with rain in the forecast for the Midwest. Wheat prices rose ahead of Friday's U.S. Department of Agriculture Export Sales report. Soybean prices rose on reports of continued dry weather in Argentina.

Corn: Dec 3.94, off 1/2; Mar 4.09 1/4, up 1/4; May 4.19 1/4, up 1/4; Jul 4.27 3/4, up 1/4.

Soybeans: Nov 9.63 3/4, up 2 1/4; Jan 9.72, up 4; Mar 9.79, up 5; May 9.83 3/4, up 6 1/4.

Wheat: Dec 5.31 3/4, up 8 3/4; Mar 5.52, up 9; May 5.65, up 8 3/4; Jul 5.76 1/2, up 8 1/4.

Oats: Dec 2.66 1/2, up 2 3/4; Mar 2.80, up 2 3/4; May 2.88 1/4, up 2 1/2; Jul 2.95 3/4, up 2 3/4.
