WASHINGTON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. stroller producer Maclaren recalled 1 million umbrella strollers Monday, citing a risk of severe injury, including amputation of children's fingers.
The company issued a recall in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, CNNMoney.com reported Monday.
Maclaren of South Norwalk, Conn., said it had received reports of 12 amputations from across the country involving strollers imported from China and sold in the United States since 1999 at Babies R Us and Target.
The recall involves Quest Sport, Volo, Quest Mod, Techo XT, TechnoXLR, Triumph, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller strollers.
The prices of the strollers varied from $100 to $400.
The commission advised consumers to stop using the recalled strollers and contact the company for a free repair kit.
Consumers can call 877-688-2326 for information.
