WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Adventure Playsets backyard swing sets due to a fall hazard.
The plastic coated lumber used on the horizontal ladder could weaken over time, the commission said in a statement. The company has received more than 1,400 reports of rotting ladders including 16 reports of injuries, the commission said.
About 275,000 Adventure Playsets Wooden Play Sets were sold nationwide from January 2004 through December 2007 for between $300 and $600 each.
The play sets were sold in a variety of styles, including Durango, Tacoma, Sherwood, Bellvue, Ventura, Belmont, Yukon, El Dorado, Dakota, Sedona, and Madison.
Consumers were advised to stop children from using the swing sets and contact Adventure Playsets for a replacement kit.
Consumers can call 877-840-9068 for information.
