ROSELAND, N.J., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Non-farm job losses slowed September to October for the seventh consecutive month, Automatic Data Processing reported Wednesday.

ADP revised it's August to September job losses from 254,000 to 227,000 and said the most recent month saw a loss of 203,000 additional jobs.

Job losses are slowing, but the aggregate number of losses continues to increase. Construction lost 51,000 jobs in the latest monthly report, the 33rd consecutive month of job losses in the sector, which has shed more than 1.6 million jobs since January 2007.

Manufacturing, meanwhile, lost 65,000 jobs.

Firms with 500 or more employees lost 53,000 jobs, while medium-sized companies lost 75,000. Small companies, those with fewer than 50 workers, shed an additional 75,000 jobs, the smallest monthly total since July 2008.
