Coca-Cola updates the old soda machine

ATLANTA, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- U.S. beverage giant Coca-Cola Co. said it would test a soda dispenser that serves more than 100 different drinks from a standard-sized soda machine.

The so-called "fountain of the future," allows consumers to use a touch-screen to choose flavors, which consumers can mix together or keep separate.

Selecting lemonade, for example, provides a new screen with several lemonade varieties. Consumers can then fill a cup as far as they prefer, then scroll through the choices to add a topping of another beverage.

Coca-Cola said it would test the new machines in Southern California and in downtown Atlanta, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Wednesday.
