U.S. markets recover from steep losses
LONDON, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- They did not drive across the Atlantic, but Greyhound buses will soon debut in Britain, aiming for young travelers, the British owners said.
FirstGroup took control of Greyhound in 2007 for $3.1 billion, but had yet to begin service in Britain until now, The Times of London reported Wednesday.
"Since FirstGroup took over Greyhound in 2007, we have hoped to bring this famous brand across the Atlantic and I am absolutely delighted to reveal the first authentic Greyhound coaches in the U.K.," Moir Lockhead, chief executive officer at FirstGroup, said.
FirstGroup plans to name buses after hit songs, such as Sweet Caroline, Peggy Sue and Barbara Ann.
The service will feature low fares and free WiFi to appeal to a younger crowd, The Times said.
