U.S. markets slide Wednesday

NEW YORK, July 29 (UPI) -- U.S. markets closed lower Wednesday, extending a streak of lackluster trading to the fourth consecutive day.

A Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo! Inc. announcement of a 10-year deal that plays to their strengths in Internet advertising did little to spur excitement. Microsoft shares rose 1.41 percent Wednesday. Yahoo! shares dropped 12.08 percent.
