CHICAGO, July 17 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed higher on the Chicago Board of Trade Friday in spite of the dollar gaining ground against the euro and the yen.
Corn was up 5 1/2 to up 6 1/4, soybeans were up 32 1/2 to up 33 1/2, wheat was up 8 1/2 to up 8 3/4 and oats were up 3/4 to up 1 1/4.
Corn futures rose with weather cooling down in the Midwest. Dry wheat areas of Argentina expect scattered rain, predicted to be light in the most parched areas. Soybean futures gained support from rising oil prices Friday.

Corn: Sep 3.22 1/4, up 5 1/2; Dec 3.31 1/2, up 6 1/4; Mar 3.45 1/4, up 6; May 3.54 3/4, up 6.
Soybeans: Aug 10.09 1/2, up 33 1/2; Sep 9.48 1/2, up 32 1/2; Nov 9.23 1/2, up 33 1/2; Jan 9.31 1/4, up 33 1/4.
Wheat: Sep 5.41 3/4, up 8 1/2; Dec 5.68, up 8 1/2; Mar 5.86 1/4, up 8 3/4; May 5.97 1/4, up 8 3/4.
Oats: Sep 2.15 1/4, up 3/4; Dec 2.27 1/4, up 1 1/4; Mar 2.39 1/4, up 1 1/4; May 2.47 1/4, up 1 1/4.
