Gromex pacifiers recalled

Published: July 7, 2009 at 3:15 PM

WASHINGTON, July 7 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Gromex infant pacifiers due to a choking hazard.

The Jaloma Pacifiers include ventilation holes that are too small to pass federal safety standards, the commission said in a statement.

About 700 of the pacifiers were imported from Mexico by Gromex Inc. of Passaic, N.J., and sold in New York and New Jersey for about $1 between February 2008 and March 2009.

The pacifiers have ring-shaped handles and two ventilation holes on opposite sides of a mouth guard.

Consumers were advised to take the pacifiers away from children immediately and contact Gromex for a full refund or an exchange.

Consumers can call 973-458-9399 for information.
