DALLAS, May 20 (UPI) -- Southwest Airlines, ranked first in a recent customer satisfaction survey, said it would begin flights in and out of Milwaukee by the end of the year.
The discount airline, which maintained its No. 1 spot among major carriers in the University of Michigan's Customer Satisfaction Index for the 16th consecutive year, plans to officially announce the addition of Milwaukee to its schedule at its annual shareholders meeting in Dallas, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Wednesday.
Midwest Airlines/Midwest Connect currently controls the largest flight schedule out of Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport with 35.1 percent market share. Delta is the second busiest airline at the airport with 22.6 percent of the market share, followed by AirTran with 19.8 percent.
