LOS ANGELES, April 20 (UPI) -- U.S. broadcaster Fox News said Monday it would reach into MySpace for citizen journalism reports that would be featured on its broadcasts.
A new partnership between the two companies would allow give "uReporters" from MySpace the chance to upload reports that would "have a chance to be featured on Fox News," the companies said in a joint statement.
Fox News would control the editorial content it gleaned from the "MySpace uReport community," the statement said.
"This synergy with Fox News reinforces what MySpace is all about -- providing users the ability to share, explore, connect and consume," Chris DeWolfe, chief executive officer and co-founder of MySpace said.
"I look forward to seeing what they come up with when presented with the opportunity to be featured on-air," he said.
Chairman and CEO of Fox News Roger Ailes said the contributions from the online community "will be substantial."
