Bush welcomes financial summit leaders to the White House

BEIJING, April 1 (UPI) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said the Group of 20 summit meeting in London should focus on financial system reforms to prevent a future financial crisis.

"The international financial system should undergo necessary reforms in an all-around, balanced, gradual and effective manner to prevent a similar crisis in the future," he said.

Hu said China would cooperate with other nations to find "positive" and "practical" outcomes to the meeting, Xinhua reported Wednesday.

Hu is attending the meeting along with Vice Premier Wang Qishan, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Minister of Finance Xie Xuren, Minister of Commerce Chen Deming, and central bank Gov. Zhou Xiaochuan, Xinhua reported.
