Grains mostly higher Friday

CHICAGO, March 6 (UPI) -- Grains closed mostly higher on the Chicago Board of Trade Friday as traders said the dollar appeared poised for a downward correction.

Corn was up 3 to up 3 1/2, soybeans were up 14 3/4 to up 16 1/2, wheat was up 6 1/4 to up 7 and oats were off 1 3/4.

Corn prices gained early as ethanol producers pushed for higher ethanol mandates in Washington. Wheat lifted as traders' attention increasingly shifts to this year's winter wheat crop. Soybeans rallied, as traders focused on harvest delays in Brazil.

The prices:

Corn: Mar 3.52 3/4, up 3 1/2; May 3.61 1/2, up 3; Jul 3.71, up 3 1/4; Sep 3.79 1/4, up 3.

Soybeans: Mar 8.79, up 16 1/2; May 8.67, up 15; Jul 8.66, up 14 3/4; Aug 8.53, up 15 1/2.

Wheat: Mar 5.16, up 12 1/4; May 5.27, up 12; Jul 5.38 3/4, up 11 3/4; Sep 5.63, up 11 3/4.

Oats: Mar 1.74, off 1 3/4; May 1.82 3/4, off 1 3/4; Jul 1.91 3/4, off 1 3/4; Sep 2.00 3/4, off 1 3/4.
