U.S. markets recover from steep losses

NEW DELHI, March 2 (UPI) -- India lifted a ban on toys from China after Indian companies complained the ban was hurting their businesses.
Indian Minister of Industry and Commerce Kamal Nath signed an order retracting the ban effective Monday, Xinhua reported.
The ban, which China called protectionism, was a put in place a month ago over safety concerns, Xinhua reported.
But, prices of toys soared as much as 100 percent and stocks ran low, merchants said.
India said earlier that Chinese manufacturers could resume sending toys to India if they were certified as safe by an international body, like the International Standardization Organization.
