WASHINGTON, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Spa Factory Aromatherapy Fountain & Bath Benefits Kits, due to risk of explosions.
Importer JAKKS Pacific Inc., of Malibu, Calif., has received 88 reports of exploding jars, including 13 injuries, from a buildup of carbon dioxide in the Bath Bombs/Balls or Bath Fizzies, the Commission said.
About 516,000 of the kits were sold at discount stores nationwide from August 2008 through January 2009 for about $13 for the Bath Benefits Kit and between $30 and $50 for the Aromatherapy Fountain.
Consumers were advised to take the toy's jars and caps from children and contact JAKKS for free replacement jars with properly ventilated caps.
Consumers can call 877-875-2557 for information.
