Drones over U.S. may pose security risks

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- PNC Financial Services Group Inc. in Pittsburgh said Tuesday it would cut 5,800 jobs after losing $248 million in the fourth quarter.
The job losses include 4,000 job cuts announced by National City Corp, which PNC recently purchased, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jim Rohr said, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Tuesday.
Each bank employs around 30,000. In Northeast Ohio, National City employs about 8,000, the newspaper said.
The loss of $248 million includes mortgage losses incurred by National City. For the year, PNC, which purchased National City in December, posted a profit of $882 million.
The job cuts, however, would save the bank about $1.2 billion a year, the newspaper said.
