CHICAGO, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Grains closed mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Thursday as the dollar gained in strength and oil prices remained low.
Corn was off 1 to off 1 1/4, soybeans were up 20 1/2 to up 23 1/4, wheat was off 4 to off 5 1/2 and oats were up 1.
Low oil prices and the stronger dollar offset news of continued dry weather in Argentina's corn growing region. Wheat closed lower, although concerns of winter kill in U.S. winter wheat fields continued with frigid Midwest weather. Soybean exports were above expectations for the week with China the leading buyer, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said.
