CHICAGO, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Grains closed sharply higher on the Chicago Board of Trade Tuesday, despite a stronger U.S. dollar.
Corn was up 16 1/4 to up 16 1/2, soybeans were up 29 to up 30 1/2, wheat was up 26 3/4 to up 27 1/2 and oats were up 12 to up 12 1/4.
Corn closed higher with dry weather continuing in Argentina. Wheat prices rose in anticipation of a large tender -- 495,000 metric tons -- expected Friday from Saudi Arabia. Soybeans rallied with the U.S. Department of Agriculture announcing a sale of 232,000 metric tons to China today.

Corn: Mar 4.27 1/2, up 16 1/4; May 4.38, up 16 1/2; Jul 4.48, up 16 1/2; Sep 4.57 3/4, up 16 1/4.
Soybeans: Jan 10.14 1/4, up 30 1/2; Mar 10.16, up 29; May 10.27 1/4, up 29; Jul 10.38 1/4, up 29.
Wheat: Mar 6.43 1/2, up 26 3/4; May 6.56 1/2, up 27; Jul 6.68, up 27; Sep 6.88 1/4, up 27 1/2.
Oats: Mar 2.28, up 12; May 2.37 1/2, up 12 1/4; Jul 2.47, up 12 1/4; Sep 2.56 1/2, up 12 1/4.
