Arizona newborn and infant pants recalled

WASHINGTON, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Arizona brand newborn and infant pants due to a choking hazard.

The metal snap on the pants can detach, posing a hazard to infants, the commission said Tuesday.

About 24,000 of the pants, imported from Bangladesh by JCPenny Co., of Plano, Texas, were sold nationwide from July 2008 through October 2008 for about $15 a pair.

The recall involves girl's and boy's denim pants sold in sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months and 6-9 months.

Arizona brand pants made in China are not involved in the recall, the commission said.

Consumers were advised to stop using the pants and return them to JCPenny for a full refund.

Consumers can call 866-333-6063 for information.
