WASHINGTON, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Heartland and Yardine backyard playset gliders due to a fall hazard.
Some of the gliders were shipped with insufficient instructions for assembly, the commission said in a statement. Some of the lock nuts installed at the factory weren't fully tightened, causing a potential for the gliders to detach, the commission said.
About 500 of the gliders, distributed by Backyard Play Systems LLC of Monroe, Mich., were sold by Backyard Buildings, More and Lowe's stores nationwide from February-July 2008 for about $100.
Consumers were advised to stop using the gliders until all the lock nuts were securely fastened. Backyard Play Systems is notifying customers directly and providing new assembly instructions, the commission said.
Consumers can call 866-890-2211 for information.
